Description

2G Combined Heat And Power System (CHP)

This system is designed for the cogeneration of heat and power. Heat and power generation can also be used individually.

Intended use was for supporting the process of converting manure into methane gas.

System Components
2G Four Stroke Gas Engine
– Pistons
– Cylinder sleeve with inserted top land ring
– Cylinder heads
– Ignition system
– Turbocharger
– Slide bearing

Intercooler System

Generator
– Air/Fuel mixture composition
– Combustion air supply

Gas Train
– Maximum permissible inlet gas pressure, see TSP
– Integration in the module frame considerably reduces the on-site system installation effort
– Ball valve/shut-off valve for manual interruption of the gas supply, including integrated thermal shut-off device
– Gas filter to avoid dirt particles in the combustion gas
– Gas pressure regulator (safety pressure, see Technical specification “TSP”)
– Double solenoid valve with integrated leakage control for automatic interruption of the gas supply; integrated in the system control unit
– Zero pressure regulator provides the optimal gas pressure for the gas mixer

Gas Mixer
– 2G industry standard to reduce pressure losses in the intake tract
– The annular gap mixer automatically adjusts the gas-air mixture depending on the energy content and air temperature. Therefore, a homogeneous mixture formation with various gas types and compositions is ensured

Integrated Heat Extraction System
– Heating circuit (secondary circuit)
– Plate Heat Exchanger (Separation of primary and secondary circuit)
– Engine circuit (primary circuit): Electric circulation pump ensures that the combustion engine is sufficiently cooled after shut-off to prevent heat accumulation. Pump is configured for a small temperature difference between engine inlet and outlet to reduce the wear on engine components and maximize its service life. Expansion tank compensating for pressure fluctuations
